This is just the first step in what's going to be a loooong project... I have a 65 cab, in fairly good shape. I was given a 79 blazer, with a rusted beyond salvage body, but it does have an 8 lug full float rear, 8 lug 10 bolt front, lift, 465 4 spd, 205 transfer case, and I have a short stepside bed from yet a different truck, as well as a really nice 4 headlight grill, and a BBC block and heads, or either a 350 or a 327. If I can afford it, I really want to build a 427 with an aftermarket PFI or TBI setup, but might have to go with a 350 at first.
I did a bit of measuring, frame widths seem to be the same or real close, looks like a bit of work as the firewall to radiator support is a bit different (planned on electric fan, so I can make it fit) and I have the cab/body mounts off the old frame, since they all hang on the outside of the rails.
2 basic questions for now (more to follow I'm sure) 1- I did a search under "frame swapping"(I put 999 in # of days to go back) and found nothing about it, has anyone else done this?
2- Where can I get copies of the frame diagrams, like a body shop would use on a frame rack for both trucks? The way I would like to do it is to set the bare frame on stands, and diagram the mount locations onto the floor with plumb bob's to locate them. goal is to make sure the axles are properly centered in the wheelwells so it doesn't look weird!
I have a couple projects ahead of this, but I have been dreaming/planning this for a few years, and want to get a plan of attack.

Sure does, that will make it a lot easier to lay out the body mounts
Thanks!
