66 long fleetside been sitting in a pasture for 6 years in Trenton, Tx. Motor had filled with water and was cracked, rats ate the wiring. So I bought it last September and its in my driveway in Sachse, Tx. now. Tagged and inspected, put a 74 350 with 275/282 cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock 600CFM, headers etc. 3 on the floor. Not done with it (of course). 60 year old father/grandfather/vet. The "Christine" name comes from the movie........a possesed vehicle returns from the dead.

Welcome from Washington state. Nice to see another enthusiast in my age bracket. I've been driving my 1960 GMC for almost 20 years, but our previous daily driver was a 1946 Ford sedan named Christine for the same reason! Put 300,000 miles on her in 8 years, never let me down, but needed constant attention and behaved badly if my wife drove her. Her theme song was "You better be good to me" by Tina Turner!
Responded earlier to your rear end question before I saw the specs on your engine. You might be happier with a Richmond 5 speed with a .77 OD rather than a T5. I'm running a 350 in mine with a Richmond 4 speed and 4.09 Dana 44 rear axle. The setup works great for me since I'm retired and almost never use the freeway.
