Just got a 1966 Checy C-10. The previous owner covered the holes for the outside mirrors when he repainted it. I want to add the mirrors but need to know the measurments from the edge of the door so I can drill new holes to match the existing weld nuts. Is there a site that shows something like this and where exterior parts are to be located? Thanks.

Did he weld them up or fill them with body filler. If they're welded you're screwed. If they're filled us a magnet to find the filler. I didn't know there were weld nuts in the doors. Let me go look at one of mine that has the mirror's off.

Alright. The top two holes are 3" and 5 11/16" back from the front edge of the door and they're 2 1/2" down from the window sill. (where the door meets the glass) and the bottom hole doesn't have anything behind it, just held on with a sheet metal screw. This is all on a 1965. It's also got some more holes where another mirror was mounted. I don't know what's stock and what's not. I just run a peep mirror. When I got my 64 it had big ass semi truck mirrors that mounted above and below the window, and it was all sheet metal screws. I hope that information helped.

Thanks for the help. With your measurments I was able to get real close enough and mounted both very well.
