66 C10 My "Batt" gauge has a "D" and "C", is this a voltmeter or an ammeter? I do not have a schematic, even a sketch will help. Thanks.

Welcome from Washington state. It's an ammeter. The D stands for discharge, and the C stands for Charge. Unless you're doing a pure stock restoration it should be replaced with a voltmeter. For one reason upgrading to a high output alternator can fry the gauge and the truck. There a numerous web links explaining the reasons it should go, just search for voltmeter vs ammeter.

Thanks. I pulled this truck out of a pasture in Trenton, Tx. been sitting there for 6 years and rodents had there way with the wiring. I have an overall schematic but nothing on the gauges. Temp gauge goes to full hot after a couple minutes of warm up. Thanks !
