It is now much easier to display images in your posts. Now, when you edit your post, you have a line labeled 'Upload an Image.' You can browse your computer, find the image you want to display, and click 'Host It.' This will automatically upload the image to your account with ImageShack.
You don't necessarily have to create an account with ImageShack to use this feature. It seems to work either way, but I recommend it. If you have an account, you can view all the images you've uploaded and make changes, etc. Click HERE to create an account.
After you've clicked the 'Host It' button, a new window will appear on your screen asking you to wait while the image is uploaded. This process may take a while, depending on your connection speed. Do not close this window. It will cancel the upload process. As soon as it's uploaded, you'll be given 2 or 3 options, depending on whether or not you have an account with ImageShack.
First is 'Full Image.' This will display the image at full size, not to exceed the size of the post. The forum will automatically resize the image to fit the screen if it is a large file, so don't worry about resizing the image before you upload it. There will be a link above the image to allow you to view the image in its native format and size. See the example below.
Second is 'Clickable Thumbnail Image.' This will display an smaller image that serves as a link to the larger image hosted on ImageShack. It will look something like this:
Third, and last, is 'Link to Image.' This will display a link to the image, rather than the image or thumbnail, and look something like this:
img70.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1965sbssgv9.jpg
You can still post images the traditional way, so if that's what you're used to and you're more comfortable with that, feel free to continue. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help in any way I can.
