ok, I need to drop my 66, I'm gonna use drop spindles and drop coils...I want to go low.. I have found some coils on Ebay that are 3 inch drop in front and 5 inch drop in rear, so that gives me (along with 2 1/2 drop spindles) 5 1/2 in front an 5 in the rear, but will I need a frame notch for this combo? or is 5 in the rear ok? otherwise i gotta go with 4 1/2 in front and 4 in rear. Does anyone have a pics of their dropped trucks I can see?
Thanks

You do need a notch to go down 5 in the rear.

I plan on doing basically the same drop on my 65. I have 5 inch coils for the back, 2 1/2 inch spindles and 2 inch coils for the front. Also, I plan on getting a c-notch and an adjustable track bar for the rear before tackling this project before summer rolls around.

Are you planning hauling a lot of weight??, I have 3" springs in the rear and I have 7" clearance so you would have 5" with the 5" coils, that's plenty if you're not going to haul anything heavy, wouldn't need to C the frame!...

I don't see any problem with it, and you could always put air shocks on it anyways if for some reason you needed to haul something with any weight!...

I assume that you removed the rubber bump stops? A stock height spring gives you 7" clearance between the bump stop and the rear end housing.

Haven't taken them off yet don't think I need to, there is 4" now and without them there is 7"..

If you will go to early classic inc. you can see your truck in different stances, that might help you decide.
Hope it helps

Do they have a website? Nothing obvious comes up when I search for "early classic inc."

This is the same guy I just changed by username and email, I sent you a location to buy some of the hubcaps that you wanted to buy also. The website is EarlyClassic.com, if you will go to the tech articles and scroll down it will show you the stance pictures. When your through check out the rest of the sight it is a very good company.
