After you start working on it for a while the "suprise" will turn into "well that figures". Don't get discouraged with it because if these trucks were easy everyone would have one.

Yeah. I've been working in paint and body since I was in high school, and I worked in a hot rod shop so I know how it is lol. We were just suprised that we didn't notice it a long time ago. I think I'm gonna call a friend of mine to come look at that monstrosity of a tear. He's a really good body man, and really good with metal so it may be a breeze for him to fix.

Body panels are turning out pretty good... and we picked up a few parts at the auto fair in Charlotte last month New bumpers, grille, headlamp bezels, door sills, new headboard for the bed, and a new tailgate. Getting ready to get the bed apart to start working on it, and get the cab off the frame. I also picked up some paint to test. Somewhat close to the factory green color, but a little more flashy.

Thanks. I've been tossing around ideas for the suspension and an engine swap. Getting excited.

It's interesting to see a truck restored in detail like you are doing. Please keep the pictures coming as you progress.

Thanks. I've been tossing around ideas for the suspension and an engine swap. Getting excited. You could bolt everything on a 72 chassis and you'll have disc brakes, just a thought!.. What size is the motor???...

I'm not exactly sure on the size of the motor. I know it isn't the original motor that came in the truck. Seems like my dad told me it came from a 70s model? Is there an easy way to tell?
We are planning for disk brakes. I have a front/rear set of Baer big brakes from another car I own that I plan on selling. Once they sell I'll put that money towards brakes for the truck. We already have plans to swap out rear ends which will give us the newer 5 lug rear. I'll be a lot happier with 5 lug too because that will give me more wheel options.

Well, if it's a 292 it'll be a tall block with 6" tall side covers, if it's a 194-250 it'll be a standard low deck with 4" side covers!. Block number by th right motor mount will ID it also!...

He said it's a 250. It's a pretty good motor. Has electronic ignition.
