I have a 1960 apache and swapped out the front end with a 75 for the disk breaks. I found out today that you cant mount a power booster to the firewall with a hydraulic clutch. My first idea was to modify the clutch pedal and install a stand alone slave cylinder for the clutch. This means I'll have to cut a hole in the firewall for the plunger. I have seen the frame mount boosters. has anyone tried them? I would like the simplest cost effective solution. I don't want to cut any holes in the cab if I don't have to.

Hey BigRichard, you can buy a booster kit for our year truck for about 500.00 , they are outragesily priced. or you can do what a member did. Go to the new memer fourms and click the "another old guy " tab. I like how he did his. I used a Willood cylinder with a bracket from MP brakes, this needed 1 5/8 hole to install. I also reinforced it to the inner feder well . But if I had to to it again I would go the other way

Thanks Sleepy. I checked it out. I think i am going with the bolt on like you suggested. It is pricy but if I don't have to modify it's worth it. I plan on installing a Tremec TKO 5 speed in a couple of years. I need to get this thing back together and on the road first.
