Hey everyone I wanna slam my truck so it's just inches off the ground. Should I buy a kit thats in LMC or should I have a few friends do this the old school way and heat up the springs?

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT heat up the springs, that screws up the spring rates and kills handling big time and can become dangerous!.. Use spindles and new lowered coils and shocks!..

I agree. Do it right. It's worth it in the end.

I agree with the other replies. I have ridden in trucks that were done the right way and the wrong way, the wrong way being the heated coil route and let me tell ya, YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAT THE COILS...

Theres one thing you have to watch out for when lowering these trucks. That is when you lower the back end. Because they have trailing arms, when you lower the back beyond a certian point it will move the wheels out of center of the bed fender opening. These kits may or may not tell you that, they should tell you that you will either have to relocate your pan hard bar or put an adjustable one on it.

Don't heat em. Also you can only go so low with springs and coils. If you want inches off the ground you are going to need to at least notch the frame in the rear and if it's radical enough you may need to "Z" it. You might consider air bags. The point is there is a limit as to how far you can go with springs and spindles. I have a 51 Ford that is way low with springs, spindles and blocks and it still looks tall next to an airbagged car.

I couldn't agree with you more, the truck is useless at that point (In my opinion).
