They covered this exact procedure on an episode of Trucks TV on the Speed channel. It showed how to z cut the frame of a 1966 C-10, and shorten a fleetside longbed sheetmetal to a shortbed. It is an excellent reference for anyone wanting to perform this task. The episode is titled One-Half a C-10, number TK2007-10. They sell dvds of each show for $5.95. Their website if very hard to navigate so it's not clear if they go back to the 2007 season. In the 2008 season episode 6 is "C-10 Daily Driver Part 3" and episode 21 is (C-10 Daily Driver Part 4). Both of these pertain to the same project truck, but by these episodes the frame shortening is already finished. Near as I can tell they moved on to other vehicles and never completed the C-10 project. Hope this helps.

Hi again, I just discovered you can buy episodes of "Trucks" through Amazon.com. The link below shows the 2007 season. The episode on sectioning the 66 C10 is listed as number 10, May 27, 2007: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OV7RQK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=digital-video&qid=1240807684&sr=1-9They also have individual episodes for $1.99 each. I think this is to view them on your computer, but at least you would be able to see how they did the frame and sheetmetal sectioning. Regards, Mark.
