I'm building a 62 I want to use drop spindles and go 5-lug with disc brakes how many different bolt patterns are there for this setup? The spindles call for 73 and up disc brakes. And also if I have the 6-lug pattern on the rear welded up and re drilled for 5-lug what rear disc setup can be used ? Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated .

CPP offers a 5 on 4 -3/4 chevelle rotor set-up for this app. So there is more than just 5 on5 or 6 lug. Go back to sleep

I do not know what rear end you have on a 62 truck, but the axles may be swappable for something with five lugs. Might be worth a few phone calls to local junk yards.
just a thought del

Its cool man, I just dont want this site to turn into the HAMB where some asks and a questions no matter its degree of simplicity and gets torn a new one.
You are right by what I have seen. You can get a 5 and 4 3/4 bolt pattern with most kits. The 5in. pattern rotors are going to be the same rotors as came on a 71-87 Chevrolet Truck and you can buy those at about any parts store. As far as rear axles Early Classic sells 5 lug axles for those who are swapping over to 5 from 6 lugs.

too funny I just woke up, and stand corrected you can get a 5 on 4.75 rotor bolt on kit that uses Your stock spindles, and brackets they are not a drop spindles. You said you wanted DROP spindles, so I did not include the smaller 5 lug car rotor. One thing you may want to consider is that the small 5x4.75 rotors were made for malibus, chevelles ets, not for a big old truck. Just a thought, why go 'SMALL' on your brakes. Go with the 5x5 or 6 lug rotor
Now for rear end, if it is the stock rear end in your 62 you can not swap out the axles this is for 60-62's , as 63-66 are swapable. this will leave you with 2 choices, swap out the rear end to a 72 rear end (this is a coil set up) or 73 this is a leaf spring set up both 5 lug. You have remove the sring seats or saddles and weld in new ones, as well as modifying the panhard (track bar) to fit the new rear end. Again the 60-62 has the the saddles spaced different then the 63-72 . and then get a disc kit for it( the 96 impalla ss had 5x5 disc) Or you can re drill yours, but keep in mind that you are limmited in what you can do to the gearing. As for my 60, it is getting drop spidles with 5 on 5 rotors and a 67 rear end convertd to 5 on 5 my original answer was short ,not ment to be sarcastic anyways,
I hope this helps ( not bad from old sleepysal) Now if you will excuse me I am going back to sleep too funny

CPP has some for a 6 lug disc swap. They have an entire kit to for a drop and disc brake swap and keep the 6 lug. I have no idea if there are anything you could get off a new truck that would work.

Hornet, I purchased the dropped spindle 2 1/2" disc brake conversion and 4" dropped coil spring (rear) and kept it 6 lug on my 1960 chevy 1/2 from CPP. Really happy with the product and they were the cheapest on prices. If you call them they well tell you what year the disc rotor comes from or do online research on their website. Every thing you buy from them are lifetime warranty, even the rotors......... Just keep the boxes. They warranty an item for me in the past. You will have to pay to ship it to them...Larry
