Anyone know of an affordable place that will re-chrome parts? If you have experience with a company that does good work for a resonable price, let me know.

Advanced Plating in Nashville,TN is the first place that I can think of. They are one of the best but I dont know how they are on their pricing.

i am curious about chroming prices too. i was a local swap meet this weekend, Turlock,Ca. i asked 2 places how much to chrome a rear bumper for a 64. 1st place said $300 and 2nd place said $260. how does that compare to other places? i ended up buying a new repro for $125.

The only factory chrome on the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks is the front and rear bumper. The windshield trim is stainless steel and the Custom cab sails, body side molding and the grilles were anodized aluminum. What parts are you looking to have re-chromed?
I agree, the reproduction front and rear bumpers are not comparable in quality, fit or finish to the OEM units. I am speaking from my personal experience. They need to be polished regularly or they will develop surface rust.

Well, If one is going to redo a truck for show, the aluminum trim after 45+ years of oxidizing and abuse looks pretty bad. I guess he is going to rechrome all of the aluminum.
A nice trick is that if your trim isnt dented or you want to use it or w/e, you can put easy off oven cleaner on it and let it sit for a while, and then polish it back out. The easy off will remove the anodizing and allow you to polish the aluminum back to new. You might have to do this a few times for it to work. Ive seen some guy sell some annodizing remover at shows that mixes with water, it works ok but when I saw it, it cost more then oven cleaner.

I plan on re-chroming the radio face, horn button and ring. I also bought a 62 grille that someone else chromed. It is missing one headlight surround and the other is dented. I was going to have my painted headlight surrounds chromed to match the grille.

I checked with Advanced and Paul's. They were both $170-$175 to chrome each part. WOW! This is going to get expensive. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

man I remeber when chroming was affordable, but with strict EPA laws no more. My old next door nighbors belong to a lowrider car club and they would send a truck load of there stuff across the border to Mexico to get it chromed. Good luck
