How do I identify which 6 cylinder motor is in my 1964 Chevrolet? What code or number reflects size? Thanks for your help!!

if your push rod covers on the side are about 6" tall than its a 292.

There is also a pad next to the distributor with some numbers and letters on it. If you post it we will be able to tell you exactly what you have.

also if your fuel pump is center of block its a 292 if its forward on block by the oil filter its a 230/250

If the fuel pump is behind the passenger side motor mount, it is a 292. If the fuel pump is forward of the passenger side motor mount, it is something different than a 292.
