I just finished my 66 and now have about 200 miles on it. I bought the truck from the original owner about 14 months ago. I removed the body and completely rebuilt the rolling chassis. I disassembled the sheet metal, cleaned everything, installed new wood, and remounted on my new chassis. The truck drives like a new truck yet has the old vintage barn find look.

Thank you. It was a lot of work, as I'm sure you know, but it sure is nice to drive it now. I'm still looking for a few parts to finish.

The truck is a factory a/c truck. I need the vents for the dash. I purchased an "Old Air" system and I want to run it through the factory vents. I'm also looking for the brackets and gravel guards for the rear bumper.

Dude I love your truck. I too am thinking about running an A/C unit through the original dash vents. I was also plannin on puttin a Caddy air cleaner on my 283 as well, seems we have the same taste. I have 2 questions, How much did you lower your truck? Where did you get your rear mount gas tank?

All the suspension parts are from CPP. The front is 2in. drop spindles and 3in. coils. The rear is 5in. drop coils, 2in. blocks, c-notch and deluxe panhard bar. The gas tank is also from CPP. Let me tell you, those guys were a big help and their components are awesome.

The 2 in. block kit is also from CPP and comes with the longer u-bolt. Kits come in 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, and 2 inch drops. Definitely need to be c-notched with that much coil and block.

I really like that pan hard bar. Ive got the same 12 bolt as your running and I didnt want to weld a big relocating bracket on one side of it for the drop. I was wondering, did you c-notch because you are running the blocks and springs? I guess what I'm gettin at is I didnt know if it was possible to just run with drop springs in the rear without the c-notch. I havent lowered my frame yet and Im trying to get all my info straight for when I go buy my parts and lower it. Also, with a 5in drop in the front and the motor in and everything how much clearance does your engine cradle have? I was plannin on the same amount of drop for mine in the front as well.

You could run drop springs only without the c-notch. I wanted it as low as possible without sacrificing the ride or any chance of banging the frame. Since I had the frame completely stripped down, it was only another 100 bucks to put a c-notch kit in it. As far as the front, very happy with the end results. I measured 5 inches of clearance at the center of the cross-member. It runs down the freeway very nice.

Cool, I like the stance of your truck but, Im thinkin afer seeing yours and the clearance you have in the front I might go an inch further. Ive got an image in my head of how I want it to sit and Its just alittle lower in the front then yours. The way the front end is on these trucks is made its sorta hard to get them really low without having to do all kinds of crazy mods to the frame and suspension setup.
Oh and it looks good with and without the beauty rings, you could run them sometimes and then not. Sorta shakes it up a bit

I agree with you. The front end could use about another inch lower. I would hate to ruin the ride or alignment. Right now it is aligned, turns lock to lock without hitting anything, and rides awesome. If anybody has gone lower, without bagging it, I would be interested on the pros and cons.
