what's up guys? poppabear from texas here. i am new to this forum, although not to forums in general. specifically, i was part of two forums for CRX's. i own two and love them to death. i love ALLLLLL kinds of cars.
here's how i ended up here. i married the girl i dated through out high school. while we were dating, her dad lived with them and had a 1964 c10 fleetside. i loved how that thing sounded. i had always loved the sound of big V8 muscle. well, as we got older, her dad and mom split, but we kept in touch with him. he and i have gotten very close, and he always said that the truck was hers whenever she wanted. well, that bug in me to have and work on a old vehicle with a nice powerful motor has finally gotten the best of me. i'm gonna sell one of my CRX's(a sacrifice indeed) and use the money, although not much, to put it in to the '64.
i owned a few cars. a 1989 accord, 1996 escort, 1990 sentra, 1975 cutlass(loved that car), a 1965 impala(never got around to working on it) and currently my 2 CRX's.
like i said i have always loved cars. my first love and dream car is a 1968(that's right 8 not 9) camaro. but i love them all. imports, domestic, exotic, rods, trucks, bikes... if it's got wheels powered by an engine, i probably like it. by no means of the imagination am i a good mechanic, but i tinker with stuff and do own oil changes and such.
i don't plan much for the truck, other than making a reliable means of transportation for my wife. i don't believe in having a "show only" car. i will be the primary user for a while, but it's still HER truck. I mostly want the experience for the day i do get the car "I" want. I'm thinking reliable V8, reliable tranny, reliable suspension, maybe disk brakes... outside, we both like the "unfinished" hot rod look. primer paint, pin stripe, flat wheels painted red, stuff like that. what some would call a "rat rod" although i personally dislike the term.
i look forward to using this site and maybe even contributing.

anyone know if its possible to turn my c10 into 4x4 ?
