This is the way it looks now. 1961 Chevy Fleetside Custom - 1/2 ton long bed. Keeping it all original. Except the back window is getting the big version. Hood came off a Viking. Oops. Will be getting rid of the dinky 14 inch wheels too.

Do you not like the look of the small back window? I'm just curious...cause I think they look more classic than the big window. Either way, those trucks look good.

A buddy of mine has been after me for months to swap out my small window. Either way looks great. I just love the vintage look that the small window gives the truck.

The large back window is more along the lines of the custom cab instead of the regular cab. These cabs/trucks were more rare than just regular cabs. Thats why the big window. Plus I am changing it all over to custom cab parts - trim, horn ring, V8, big back glass, etc. Only 48,391 V8's made in '61, and out of those even fewer had big back glass. So it should be very rare combo. Inlines were still the norm with 294,813 made. Even more rare is the diesel motor - only 84 trucks made with that option. Here is my web site that goes over my conversion from little back window and making it into a big back window for 60-66 Chevy trucks. Lots of pics. 1958evinrude10hp.0catch.com/60-61BackWindowProjectPg1.html
