Well... I finally got my dream truck. When I was in High School I had 2 buddies that owned a 64 2WD and 65 4WD trucks, both of which I fell in love with. Well here it is 15 years later and its my turn to own one of these machines! What I have here is a 1964 C-15. It currently has a 283 V8 in it with the trusty old 4 speed farm tranny. In the next few weeks I plan on removing the wore out 283 and replacing it with the new 327 Long Block I just purchased. Im going to leave the stock 4 speed tranny for now till I can afford either a turbo automatic or find out if its possible to retrofit a 6 speed camaro tranny? This truck was originally a plain Jane so ammenities were very basic. I have however purchased and restored/modified to the best of my ability the gauge cluster with gauges "not lights like it had originally" (the previous owner spray painted over all of the gauges under the glass WTF!) Ive also acquired the deluxe heater system from a 64 Custom I found in the salvage yard and currently have it disassembled and off to the powder coating shop along with some other component under the hood. My supportive girlfriend also surprised me with a brand new original reproduction steering wheel to replace the 10" "hand-cuff" steering wheel it came with when I purchased it. I look forward to getting this truck to where I want it. I look forward to getting to know the fellow members of this forum because I know I have LOTS of questions to ask!

Nice find, I would say they are both keepers, the truck and the rare supportive girlfriend

Very nice truck!! Nothing like having a dream and making it your own. And I would say the ULTIMATE support from an understanding girlfriend is letting you put a gauge cluster on the kitchen counter!! haha

Welcome to the site, and it looks like you've got a nice ride already. The gauge cluster looks good. Keep posting pics as you work on the truck. The more pics the better!
