Interesting thing happened to me this past week. My truck at one time or another had a camper top on it. It wasn't there when I bought it but I could tell where they had put the C-clamps on to hold it down. It had mashed the lip on the inside of the top of the bed rail. Well, I tried to beat the area back straight, no dice. So, I tried to heat up the area and straighten it but still couldnt get it to budge. I finally decided that it was a simple panel so I would make one. I cut out the bent section and the rail sprung and pretty much "pooched" up where I cut it. It did this on both ends. I tried to heat it up and fix it but couldnt. Looks like im gonna have to put it back together on my frame and hook a come-a-long to it to get the top of the bed fixed. So, if anyone has these areas where their bed is bent, beware when you try to fix it, it very well could be a pain.
