If you guys are like me you like die-casts just like the real thing. Well if you guys didnt know yet, Hot Wheels started making a what they call "Custom 62 Chevy Truck" Its pretty cool, there have been two different paint schemes so far, I like the second one the silver wheels the best. They all have a surf board that is removable in the back. One is black and the other one is yellow. I looked on their website and there is a third scheme to come. I found out its a good way to try different paint schemes just to see what they look like on a truck like ours.

I've got two like the top one, haven't seen the one with the golden wheels yet though. I do have a blue one which would be the third one you were speaking of. I own a '63 so this is as close as I'll probably ever get to a Hot Wheels version of my ride. There is also a new black one with black wheels, red stripes and a red surf board. It's pretty sweet!

Yeah, no one ever replied to the post so I never really mentioned the fact there are two different paint schemes that came out later. Ive got a blue one and the black one. You might have a hard time gettin the purple one with gold wheels (bottom pic) in a store. It was the first version and they have been gone since back in the summer. If you really want one, you can get one on ebay.

That's what I figured. I have been keeping an eye out for one on eBay. It would be nice to have at least one of each color combo. I have two of the red ones with silver wheels. I'm thinking of painting one of them to match my truck...

Yeah, and I figure next year they will be in some random series like they do with most of their cars and it will have some other paint scheme. I hoping what they will do is put it in those old cars that they sell seperate from the other ones with the older looking package.
I painted about 20 of them back when they first came out. Ive got one that matches what my truck did when I got it and then just a whole bunch of other color schemes. If you've never done it before, get a drill and drill out the rivets in the bottom of it and it will come apart.

When I go home the next time I will take a pic of some of the ones that I painted. I put them all back in the packages and hung them up except for one that I messed the package up on. I figured out that if you paint the truck with w/e colors you wish, take some of the clear laquer spray paint they have at wal-mart and hit it with some of that. It will give it a good shine. This also allows you to paint with flat paint and then make it glossy afterwards. I find that flat paint is easier to paint with on small things like this. Oh and heres the Blue and Black truck so everyone else knows what we are all talking about. ;D
