I soent the day De-greasing the under carriage of the '65 last weekend prepping it for some minor engine painting and upgrades. Threw on a bit of engine and chassis paint, replaced the starter, and popped the reconditioned headers back on.
ITs about 11pm Thursday night and I need to load it up for Super Chevy in Richmond. Turn the key and NOTHING, no lights, no radio, no start. Battery pumping out iover 12 Volts, starter wired correctly.
I throw in the towel and go to Super Chevy to pick up some goodies for the engine dress up but now iits time to figure out what is up.
Pretty sure I broke or pulled off or broke a ground strap under the truck. anybody know if there is a ground strap kit for a 65 V8 out there or should I just grab some heavy gauge battery wire and ground the heck out of everything?

Well finally solved the issue, operator error, I re-wired the starter wrong. Took the truck to its first round of local crusie ins and it was a hit.

The grounding straps available at your FLAPS, in the HELP section are good for grounding the bed to the frame and the cab to the frame. They are 12"-13" long and the original grounding straps are about 6", but they will work or your can heat the ends with a soldering iron and remove one of the terminals and cut to length.
The factory loction of the grounding straps are on the front of each inner fender to the frame rail and at the firewall end of the inner fender to the frame rails, as well as, from the firewall to the back valve cover bolt on both sides, along with the rear cross sill at each frame rail. These trucks require good, solid grounding in order for everything to function properly. Good grounds will also make your headlights, taillights and park lights burn brighter.
