Well, I have been trying to recover my truck seat for a while now and haven't had much luck doing it my way. I bought the repair kit from LMC, but of course that didn't have enough foam to cover both parts of the seat. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the pre-formed foam that is like the original? I'm sure it's gonna be pricey, but I need it, so there's nothing I can do about it. I didn't know if there were any sites that anyone knew that sold the pre-formed foam, or if I would just have to give it all over to an upholstery shop and let them do it and just suck it up and pay for it? Any help would be great! The truck's coming along...all except for the seat.

The guy who's recovering my seat is only charging me $150, including foam.

Well, I wish he was around my area...NC. I was in contact with an upholstery shop in my town today, and they said they would charge me $300! I said, "No thanks!" I'm going to just try and do it my own way. Has anyone done it themselves? Any tips or suggestions? That would be great! Thanks.

I could probably help you a little bit if I could see your seat. Do you just have the bare springs or what. If you have just the springs you have to put either canvas or heavy cotton cloth on with hog rings. Then you will have to purchase foam from an upholstery supply house somewhere. If your lucky they might cut it to the shape of your seat if you ask, but you would have to have the seat there. If not you can use a electric carving knife to shape the foam and if you need to put the foam together you just buy spray adhesive for foam and put it together. You only need to put the foam where your going to set on or lean back on. Just remember if you have an upholstery kit already with the seatcover just don't put so much foam on that you can't pull the cover on and the main thing is to cover the metal with cloth that the foam will set on. Hope this helps some
