Going to see my body guy and find out if he is ready to paint some more parts for me. Then go see about getting the gas tank hot tanked and cleaned. Maybe some rust repair on the bed sides.

I decided to try and clean the tank myself. I put in 5 gal of kerosene and coffee can full of pea stone and sealed it up. I will let it sit for a week or so and move it around every so often and let the stone slide back and fourth. I read it in another forum and thought I would give it a try.

The kerosene did not work so hot. I drained it out and was still full of gunk. Then I got the bright idea of trying oven cleaner. I sprayed two cans of the stuff in there and sealed it up and let it set a few days. I kept moving it around so the cleaner would coat the inside the best it could. Flushed it out with some water and the gunk is alomst gone. Now I got to work on getting the rust out of there.

The kerosene might not have worked to well but a few gallons of vinegar sure did. Let it set for a week and flipped it over every few days. Then went down to the local car wash and gave it a good power wash. Nice, no more gunk, no more rust.
