We just picked up a 65 short bed step side to restore. Changing out the bed from a stepside to fleetside in the process. We are considering changing brakes from the original drum to the four wheel disc, along with converting to 5 lug axles. Is it worth the time and effort to both of these or is it more than a luxury that can be without?

For most, I would say do just the front. Spend the extra $ on something else. If you look at most trucks today, they are still rear drum. Steven
