I have a 1965 shortbed stepside that I just bought last week and it needs some work. One of the things I must to is remove the grille unit, but I have no idea what bolts to reach for or how to get to them. Can you guys help me with this? Thanks. ;D

I'll take a look at mine tomorrow, but I strongly recommend going out and picking up a factory assembly manual. They run about $30 or so. VERY worth it.

It looks like there are four bolts for the grille assembly; two on each side. They're accessable from the wheel well, above the bumper brackets. Here is a picture to illustrate.

The picture doesn't work here at school, but it might work on my home computer. Just saying what you did painted a good picture. Thank you.

I believe that the bolt that the bottom arrow points from may also be one of the bolts holding the grille assembly, as well

Hello! Here is some information on my blog that might help you with your grille removal and installation. I explain in pretty good detail (with pics ) of all that was involved during my own removal and installation. To see the pics in better detail just click them. vix65chevyc10.blogspot.com/2007/07/chillin-and-grillin.html

thanks man! I hope there was helpful info on there. I definately wasnt prepared to do all that other stuff when I bought a new grille. But it has to be mounted onto your headlight buckets in order to put it on.
