So the other day I was out crusin around with the old man and we happened by the metal scrap or recycling yard. It wasn't our intention to by there, it just sorta happened that way. Well, I see a few dudes unloading a 66 long wheel base off a trailer. I was like are really gonna crush that? So we pulled a U turn and went back and asked. Low and behold they were gonna crush it. They tried to sell me the whole truck but it was rough as hell and I had no where to put it, but I said after you weigh it can I get some parts off it? The truck was a custom cab with the aluminum peices up the back of the cab, the stainless trim around the windsheild, the fancy horn button, and a perfect set of gauges. They weighed it and I went to thrashing stripping it all the mentioned above. I had to bust the windsheild out to get the trim, it was cracked anyways. So...why am I am telling you all this? Well I wanted to boast that I got all those parts I mention above for a grand total of 60 cents. no joke either.... Anyone else ever done this before?

Well I've never had that same experience, but I'm sure glad you could save all the good parts. I'm just surprised in this day of enlightenment that people still crush classic cars and trucks.

Well it was rough. If I hadn't been raining and I had more places for it I would have gotten more parts. They boys found it and picked it up cheap and make a couple hundred bucks off it scrapping it, and by the looks of them they needed it.
