Hi Folks. Old Newbie here. I've had my '66 since my wife's grandfather gave it to us in about 1981 ... just barely broke in. ;D It was a plain-jane farmer truck for sure, with a 250 6-banger and a 3-on-the-tree. 32,000 miles on the clock ... no rust perforation anywhere. The old fella was "driving by ear", so there were lots of dents, dings, and scrapes everywhere. Had the bodywork and paint done a couple of years later, and installed a chrome grille and step bumper, too. Drove it to work on a daily basis for many years, and even hauled an 8-ft. camper around for a few summers when the kids were young. I took it off the road, intending to do a frame-off resto/rod, in about 2005. Presently, it's at the engine-on-frame stage ... with a souped up 454 / TH400 drivetrain. The cab has been sand-blasted and patch-panels welded in ... but it's been stalled at that point for the time being. Short of money and time ... many of you can relate, I'm sure.
