1960 GMC Update photos

Here’s an update showing some changes since my last picture post in April 2009. Now retired, I did an inexpensive Blitz Black paint job, added dual Unity spotlights, and replaced the 15x5 front mags with 15x7’s. The inner fenders were in bad shape so the majority of the inner panels were removed providing open access to everything and allowing for the possibility of fenderwell headers in the future. The Gaylord bed cover was also removed and mini-tube bed rails were added for cosmetics and functionality. Inside the Moon tach head was replaced by a new Sunpro FZ88R version along with a blue metalflake shift knob.

Markeb01, are those spot lights OEM old school originals or aftermarkets?

They are actually both. The lights were originally produced by Unity Manufacturing, and sold by both accessory dealers, and GM dealers. Those purchased through GM had special short internal handles, and the emblem on top of each lamp reads GM instead of Unity. They are vintage lights that would have been available when the truck was new. Mine have the GM emblems, short GM handles, and factory inner and outer body brackets. I made a few modifications during the rebuilding process using some components from 1970’s-1980’s spotlights.
