The truck is a '63 c10, 3.8L, 230ci. New head, new head gasket, all new upper gaskets, rebuilt carb, and electronic ignition.
I get white smoke every now and then, sometimes at idle, sometimes when I change gears. No other symptoms that I can see except that my oil pressure drops to about 5psi at idle (after the truck gets warm) but goes up to 20-35psi at speed.?
I suspect piston rings. Any other ideas?

White/blue smoke out the exhaust means oil in the combustion chambers: piston rings/valve guides. Low oil pressure at idle after warmup probably means that the main/rod/cam bearings have seen their best days. Sounds like the ol' girl is ready for an overhaul.
