I have a 65 C-10. I'm told that they used GMC cabs on some of the older trucks. Mine has a GMC dash and different emblems on the C pillar. Everything else says Chevy. The door sill plates have GMC on them. I really need to replace the dash and I was wondering if I got a Chevy dash would it work?? I have a new wiring harness and want the dash to go with it. Any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Chevy was Chevy and GMC was GMC, someone just put Chevy stuff on a GMC truck. That is pretty common on these trucks for various reasons such as appearance and availability. The Chevy parts like grills, hoods, and emblems are still plentiful as compared to the GMC counterparts, and (this is my opinion) the Chevy hoods and grills looked better on these trucks so people will use these parts to replace their GmC stuff. You can swap out complete dashes if you want, it just takes time to do so but they will fit. Good luck with your project! ;D

Thanks Pope. It should be fun. I'd rather not replace the whole dash if I can keep from it. Maybe one of the aftermarket companies makes a dash to fit it.

I just noticed that you are in Walla Walla, I went through the John Deere AG Tech program there in 98-00. I really liked the area, was born in Spokane and raised in Moses Lake. I couldnt honestly say that I have seen a new dash, I know that there are patch panels available for the radio area for those who have had theirs chopped up for radios and various gadgets. I have seen chevy gauges fit into GMC dashes but I am not sure how it was done, I know that there is a slight diff in opening size but can't be real certain on how much, or which years of gauge set they used 60-63 or 64-66. Maybe I can dig up that picture... Well good luck either way! Pope ;D
