Hello All, I just bought this '63 2 days ago. img440.imageshack.us/img440/5876/buddy003.jpgIt was an airport maintenance truck until 1971 and spent most of it's time in an airplane hanger, hence the 85K miles. Looking to restore it. I was told it had a 327 with a race cam in it, but from what I can tell from the engine code (YIOI4UA) it is a '69 307 out of a truck. It does have the cam and sounds like thunder when it runs. I'm going to paint it gloss black with a black interior with white door panels and seat. I've named it "Ol Saddlebags" after my wife commented on the "ugly tool boxes!" Got to change out or rebuild the 3 speed tranny as it pops out of gear in first. Any help with decoding the tranny will be greatly appreciated. The numbers are: GM 15 3854728 115. Thanks!!!

Cool looking 63. My favorite year. Looks in VERY good shape. If you unbolt the tool boxes from the bed you have a stepside without the fenders.

BTW the 307 isnt the most desirable engine but you could do A LOT worse. Mine has a 267 2bbl small block from a 79 Monte Carlo. YUK ;D

That's a nice 63. It looks pretty solid.
