I think that 2445 number might be axle capacity. I have a 1960 GMC short bed stepside with a 350 small block, T10 4 speed, Dana 44 and power steering. It has an aluminum diamond plate floor and carries about 200 pounds of fuel in a 33 gallon tank. In that configuration it weighs in right at 4200 lbs. The following link lists weights for a short bed between 3340 – 4380 lbs. It doesn’t specify which suspension or how much fuel (if any) is in included. www.6066gmcguy.org/GMCID1.htmThe 60-62 may be a couple hundred pounds heavier than the 63-66 due to the much stronger frame construction and more complex torsion bar suspension.

Yeah Im with you, that 2445 number can't be right. Thats just alittle over a ton and most Hondas weight more then that. I figure a short bed with V8 is probably around 4700-5200 lbs. or more. If you can't find it on the net go to a scrap yard and ask them if you can park your truck on their scale and see how much it weighs.

You can drive into a truck stop or look up truck scales in your yellow pages or on line and check your wight there for about 7 bucks. Just make sure you have all unnecessary items out.
