Only automatic available then was the PG, if it's original it should just have 5 positions on the selector P-R-N-H-L!. It came standard with a 6 an 8 was an option, but things could have been changed over the years, best to check the tag to verify it's originality!....

It's been years since I've been in the market for headers, but everyone I knew swore by Thorley headers as the best on the market. They had a 3/8" flange and heavy tubing. The only ones I found for this series C-10 was the tri Y style and they are spendy. A quick internet search turned up the following link: www.sdpc2000.com/product/DHCD300Y/19638724WDSBChevyPickupTriYHeaders.aspxIf I were installing headers these are the ones I would buy. The reason I quit using headers years ago is because I got tired of the leaks, poor fit, rusty tubes and excess heat in the engine compartment. There are probably many great brands available but these were at one the time best available (to my knowledge).
