As some of you know I lost my one and only key to the 65 Chevy. I ordered new locks, ignition and keys for a pretty low cost. I am having the truck worked on by someone else next week and I want to know if I can change the door lock easily. I can take off the door panel no problem, but I know sometimes you need special tools for special things. I have not changed a lock before. Anyone have any experience or should I pay someome to do this... which I don't want to do.

When you take the door panel off, you can see the screws to take the outside door handles off, take them out but, be careful with them they are easy to round out for some reason. This will enable you to remove your handle and then the push button part of it with the lock should just fall out and you can put the new one in and put it all back together again.

Wow I didn't know it was that easy... too bad I just found the key yesterday after being gone for 3 months. I'll have to send the kit back being that I made 3 more keys. Thanks Scooter3!
