Well me and the girl I am seeing got into the 65 Chevy. She was actually the one who took a steak knife, cut some of the weather stripping (needs to be replaced anyway so I didn't care) and unhooked the vent window... I knew I had to bring her for it.
Now I have to replace the lock and the ignition, but right now I just want to know how to hotwire this thing because I am going to take it to someone to get an engine swap in about a month and need a way for this guy to start it. When I have the floors redone I'll worry about the locks then. Anyone know how to hotwire a 65 Chevy C-10?
Details please!

If your going to replace the ignition switch see if you can stick a screw driver in it and turn it.

I don't think anybody is going to want to tell you how to hotwire a vehicle. Having said that, these trucks are the ultimate in simplicity to hotwire which is a good reason to build other protection measures into your truck. On mine, I installed a 79 tilt/locking column and wired it permanently into the harness. Also, two alarm systems were added! The key to your question is this: When you get a new switch, you will notice that each peg is marked with a letter. You might guess that "B" is battery (or hot), "I"- ignition and "S"- start. You'll need to make two jumper wires to plug into the plug (if I gotta tell you where to put them, you probably should just use the new switch!) Now- about removing the old switch...... You are not going to be able to remove the nut unless you first remove the lock. To do that, you will need to turn the key to the left past accesory while pushing a paperclip into the little hole and compressing the spring lock. If the lock isn't destroyed, it would be better to have a locksmith re-key than to pry the whole assembly from your dash, IMHO
