Hello I have a 1962 Chevy C-10 Shortbed Fleetside. I can buy a 1985 Full Size Chevy Short van. I want to know if anyone knows if the frame will work? Is the wheelbase the same? As I dont have the van in front of me to measure it my self. Please help any info will be greatly appriciated. Thanks again.

Anything can work, but that would be a "major" project big time!...

I think the front K member will be a direct swap. The Van is a unibody meaning no frame per se but the K member (which has those great big factory brakes) will swap onto your frame and so will the power steering box and the proportioning valve. The k is pretty much the same as a pickup. Get the rear end too so all your bolt patterns will match , swap the perches and Bingo you got er whipped. I really dislike the aftermarket brake kits which are based on chevelle small brakes and the 5 x 4 3/4 bolt pattern. Even Chevelle guys want bigger than factory brakes. I want the dang thing to stop faster than I can get in trouble with a big block. Also get that tilt column out of that van they swap with minimal modification too. Quit watching T.V. and get 'er done!

The vans are not similar enough to be of any benefit for anything but parts...... engine, trans, and steering column. If it were a 73-87 pickup, some would argue that it might be a viable swap, however, I believe that the track-width is too wide.
