I just tried to do a search for this, but came up empty.
60-66 Fleetside ... is it impossible (or just extremely difficult ;D) to shorten a long bed to a short?
I'm aware that the box itself is shorter in 2 places (in front of AND behind the wheekhouse)
I'm also aware of the difference in wheelbase (115" / 127") ... The confusing part of that is that the rear suspension arms don't seem to be different lengths. Do you have to cut and re-section the frame as well? Or can you move the frame cross-member and diff forward?
Has anyone done this conversion?

Hello. I'm in the final steps of this very conversion, it's a 65 Longbed, making it a shortbed. You are right, two places needed to be shortened. If you want to see some pics, and follow the progress go to my facebook page on my homepage located at the 3 w's the a dot, then drblast then another dot then the com to get there! Let me know by posting to it. I don't have a lot of time to peruse various websites and frankly am at my limit time wise, but, we shall see!
