The rear end filler plug I just found out was stripped by the previous owner and cannot figure out a way to get it out. Took a 3/8 in socket wrench but now stripped. If I cannot get it out would it be OK to fill the rear end with new oil through the vent tube? It is a slow go but I assume it would drain into the main area. Thanks.

Me being me, I would try to put a 3/8" sacraficial 3" extension into the stripped hole, and weld it to the shoulder of the plug. Then try it with the ratchet. Done this before on 2 occasions and both times it worked. Stick weld with 7018 works better than wire feed. Good luck.

Done that before, and not just on rear end filler plugs, works real good!...
